Lows Ecological Services seeking a motivated Resource/Environmental Geologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will support a range of projects across mining, construction, and environmental sectors, providing technical expertise in geology, hydrogeology and environmental assessment. Investigating the composition, structure and history of soils, rocks and groundwater to assess environmental conditions.
Key responsibilities:
Collecting and analysing geological and geochemical data to identify pollutants and potential risks.
Preparing geological maps, reports and models using GIS, databases and analytical software.
Studying the nature and effects of natural events such as erosion, flooding and land degradation and advising on risk management.
Assessing the impact of construction, mining and industrial activities on the environment.
Designing and implementing remediation programs for contaminated land and groundwater.
Providing advice to government, mining, construction and environmental agencies on geological and environmental issues.
Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and safety codes in line with Australian standards.
Performing other related duties as required to achieve project objectives.
Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field. Knowledge of hydrogeology, soil science, geochemistry and geotechnical principles. Experience in fieldwork (sampling, drilling supervision, well monitoring). Solid data analysis and reporting skills with GIS and modeling software. Understanding of environmental protection legislation and permitting processes. Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
