Job Description
Cameby Downs is a small open-cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland, managed by a leading mining operator and positioned between Chinchilla and Miles. The site employs around 230 personnel committed to fostering a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration.
This role offers an opportunity to utilize, learn, and improve skills in the design and scheduling of Drill and Blast, Dozer Push, and Truck/Excavator operations. It involves promoting compliance with safety and environmental management systems and legislative requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, scheduling, and planning of mine operations, including continuous improvement and cost mitigation.

Key Responsibilities
* Promote and maintain compliance with safety and environmental management systems and legislative requirements.
* Provide technical guidance for all Digger/Dozer/Dump activities in consultation with the Mining Superintendent and OCE/Supervisor.
* Maintain the short-term planning production schedule including drilling, blasting, dozer, excavator, and coal mining sequencing.
* Develop and evaluate mine design for mining functions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
* A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience in engineering applications within an open-cut mining environment.
* Experience with mine design and scheduling software.
* Understanding of responsibilities under relevant legislation and regulations.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
