Ecological Project Leader

We are seeking an experienced Ecological Project Leader to lead complex ecological projects, design and implement ecological mitigation projects, and create/enhance habitats for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

This is a key role in our organization, where you will be responsible for leading projects that deliver outstanding ecological results. As a seasoned ecologist, you will have expertise in ecology and related fields, with a strong track record of success in project leadership.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and work closely with clients. You will be proficient in UK planning system and environmental legislation, and have experience in authoring a range of ecological reports.

Key responsibilities include:

* Hold a BSc and/or MSc degree in Ecology or closely related subject;
* Have sound knowledge of the UK planning system and environmental legislation;
* Author a range of typical ecology reports (PEA/EcIA/EIA/HRA/BNG/LEMPS/CEMPs);
* Be proficient in BNG assessments and able to interpret and evaluate the Biodiversity Metric;
* Lead complex ecological projects from conception to completion;
* Design and implement ecological mitigation projects;
* Create and enhance habitats for Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG);

Requirements include:

* Hold protected species survey licenses (great crested newts and bats highly desirable);
* Be competent in UK Habitat Classification and habitat condition assessments;
* Be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team;
