**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Negotiate prices and provide recommendations for the purchase of supplies
- Ensure the best possible value for money outcome is achieved
- Allow open competition with suppliers in relation to purchasing
- Be informed of current developments in the field of purchasing, prices, market conditions and new products
- Actively suggest alternatives and challenge the requirement for purchases when appropriate
- Review supplier agreements on a timely basis
- Ensure the capex process regarding correct approval is followed at all times
- Build and maintain strong relationships both with internal managers and suppliers
- Initiative to challenge current arrangements with potential alternatives
- Discover suppliers & initiate business & organisational partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Collaborate with management to ensure clarity of specifications & expectations of business goals
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers & clients
- Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data & prepare appropriate control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts & agreements
- Control spend & help build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
**Financial Administration**
- Maintain an effective system of processing requests, purchase orders and invoices
- Raising purchase orders
- Approval and coding of invoices in a timely manner
- Review current processes and suggest improvements that improve efficiency or address gaps in controls
**Licensing**
- Maintain an effective system of ensuring all licensing is up to date at all times.
- Maintain an effective system of ensuring all HOW is up to date at all times.
- Assist managers with obtaining necessary licenses to conduct business.
**Key Selection Criteria**: Do you have proven examples of demonstrating drive and energy? Are you extremely motivated and can think outside the box? Being able to demonstrate and highlight examples of these are the key criteria for you to be successful in joining our existing talented and passionate team.
- Prior experience as a Procurement Officer
- Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration degree advantageous, however not essential
- Excellent negotiating & networking skills
- Computer literacy
- Experience collating & managing data
- Knowledge of sourcing & procurement techniques
- Ability to develop strong relationships
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management & organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive & pro-active attitude
- Ability to manage a demanding and changing workload & competing priorities.
