About the role
We are currently seeking a DDSO2A‐Advanced Disability Support Worker to join our group home situated in Box Hill North VIC. The role focuses on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs in their own home, encouraging independence, and helping achieve personal goals. The roster splits for this role is 71:00/81:00.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the day‐to‐day running of the house from a leadership perspective.
- Develop planned activities in line with departmental policies and guidelines.
- Liaise with family members, medical services, departmental services and external services to help meet client needs.
- Develop, implement, monitor and review a range of client support plans, under senior staff oversight, using knowledge of client need, preferences and interests.
- Provide quality direct support to clients in line with their support needs, the programs they are accessing, and all support plans including Individual Plans.
- Administer medication, treatments and therapies according to prescribed protocols, and seek appropriate medical assistance when necessary.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Advanced Diploma of Disability Work or equivalent.
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
- Full Victorian driver's licence.
- A commitment to supporting and promoting individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
