The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth by helping licensed electricians and trade professionals bridge the critical skills gap in renewable energy.
You'll be responsible for selling accredited and non-accredited training pathways, with primary focus on Solar PV Design and Installation and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Working with individual trades, electrical contractors, and corporate clients across Australia, you'll build relationships and convert opportunities into successful enrolments.
This hands-on sales role suits someone who enjoys engaging with tradesman, visiting sites, attending industry events, and building long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively identify and engage licensed electricians and electrical contractors through cold calling, site visits, and industry networking
• Develop and execute sales strategies to secure individual enrolments and corporate/group training contracts
• Act as trusted advisor, explaining training pathways and Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) requirements
• Represent the organisation at industry events, trade roadshows, and networking forums
• Maintain strong sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM, managing enquiries through to enrolment and payment
• Collaborate with Marketing, Compliance, and Student Services teams for accurate, compliant customer interactions
• Ensure all sales practices align with Standards for RTOs 2025
About You
• Minimum 3 years' B2B or trade-focused sales experience, ideally within electrical, solar, or VET sectors
• Solid understanding of Australian renewable energy landscape, including solar PV and battery systems
• Strong communication skills with ability to build rapport with tradies and engage corporate decision-makers
• Proactive, self-driven approach with strong focus on results and relationship building
• Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel regionally when required
Experience selling training/education services or working within RTO environment highly regarded but not essential.
