We are seeking two highly motivated and driven professionals, with expertise in the areas of substance use and comorbid mental health research in young people.
About These Opportunities
This team conducts applied clinical and translational research on the assessment, understanding and treatment of primary and comorbid alcohol and other drug (AOD) use in young people.
The successful candidates will be directly involved in the delivery of the research projects funded by the Australian Government, Drug and Alcohol Program.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to engage in research to further your expertise and grow your research profile to achieve national recognition in the young people and substance use area.
As part of the NCYSUR Psychology research team led by Professor Leanne Hides, duties will include leading and undertaking quantitative data analyses, including working with large-scale longitudinal survey and administration data, to generate novel insights and contribute to high-quality, peer-reviewed research outputs.
About You
* A PhD in psychology, public health or related field is required.
* A growing profile in research in the field of psychology, public health, or related field, demonstrated through a track record of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
* Experience developing, managing and/or conducting high-quality collaborative quantitative research projects, including project management, data collection, data management, data analysis, and reporting.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish good working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
* Well-developed problem-solving skills, with an ability to forward plan, prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work with a high level of adaptability, both independently and as part of a team.
* Evidence of contribution towards obtaining external grant funding.
* Clinical training/experience in substance use treatment would be advantageous.
