Leda Security Products – part of the ARA Group ) is a national company with branches in major capital cities. We specialise in Perimeter Security, Bicycle Parking and Vehicle Access Control products. We play a key role in protecting high profile sites and venues across Australia. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Draftsman to join our Design Team.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Produce 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
* Interpret design specifications, sketches, and engineering information.
* Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) in ERP system.
* Prepare project documentation for production.
* Provide technical support to production and sales departments.
* Revise drawings as required to support production and compliance.
* Ensure designs and documentation comply with relevant industry standards.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Prepare cost estimates.
* Produce basic civil and layout drawings.
* Compile technical manuals and reports.
Essential skills:
* High proficiency in SolidWorks.
* High standards of drawing accuracy, quality, and consistency.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD.
* Competent in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
Desirable criteria:
* Minimum 2 years experience in mechanical drafting.
* Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in steel fabrication.
* Experience in product development.
* Experience in interpreting civil and architectural drawings.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet required deadlines.
* Experience in operating in an ERP environment.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
* Effective verbal and written English skills.
* Australian permanent residency is required.
