We are currently seeking an experienced
Senior Mining Engineer
to join our team at Wilpinjong Mine, a large open-cut, low strip ratio thermal coal operation located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, NSW. Producing ~12 Mtpa, Wilpinjong is a multi-seam truck/excavator and dozer push operation supplying both domestic and export markets.
About The Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for the development of Short to Medium Term mine designs and schedules, ensuring alignment with operational and business objectives. Key aspects of the role include:
* Developing practical and optimised designs and schedules.
* Engaging closely with operational stakeholders to communicate plans and manage execution.
* Leading and mentoring a team of Mining Engineers.
* Driving operational efficiency through innovative planning and continuous improvement.
* Navigating the technical challenges of multiple coal and waste horizons, complex geology, and environmental compliance.

About You
We are looking for an engineer with strong technical and interpersonal skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will ideally have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
* At least 5 years of open-cut mining experience.
* Proficiency in mine planning software such as Vulcan, SPRY, or Deswik.
* Strong communication and planning skills, with the ability to mentor others and coordinate across teams.
* A focus on continuous improvement, both personally and professionally.
* A proactive attitude toward safety and environmental responsibility.
