Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 6:30–9:30am
Wednesday & Thursday 3:00–8:00pm
Responsibilities
* Meet clients' individual needs in the least restrictive way possible
* Mentor clients to develop skills and guide people toward independent living ('do with, not for')
* Act as a positive role model and provide support in emotional behaviour, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, cooking and domestic duties
* Assist in dispensing client medication and ensure adherence to client support plans
* Perform manual handling duties safely
* Complete explicit, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports
* Manage complex and challenging client behaviours
* Support clients to engage with local communities and culture via community participation programmes and recreational activities
* Nurture dignity, autonomy and positive self‐esteem
Qualifications
* Hold or be working toward a qualification in disability support
* Solid written and verbal communication skills
* Current driver's licence (mandatory)
* Own comprehensively insured vehicle (preferred)
* Current NDIS disability worker screening clearance (mandatory)
* Current First Aid Certificate (mandatory)
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module (mandatory)
* Working rights in Australia (mandatory)
* Preferably previous experience supporting people with behavioural concerns and needs
* Basic computer literacy
* Availability for as‐required shifts
