Assistant Game Design and Production Trainer

AIE is looking for a part-time Assistant Game Design and Production Trainer that has worked in industry to come and join the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Training and mentoring the next generation of video game developers in game design and production skills
Delivering Certificate, Diploma and/or Advanced Diploma course content using a combination of practical tutorials, presentation lectures and one to one support
Advising and assisting learners on both creative and technical issues
Monitoring learner progress including attendance, coursework, informal and formal assessment
Assisting in the planning and development of new course materials, including lesson plans and tutorials
Active engagement with current industry practitioners.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
A passion for video games, game design and production
Industry experience in video game development and production
Keen understanding of game design fundamentals and creating exciting gameplay
Practical, current skills in:
Working effectively in game production teams
Unreal Engine 5 (UE4 or Unity experience also great)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiasm to work with learners and pass on your knowledge and skills and share your creative vision
Alert to new industry developments, practices, standards and software
Experience working with stakeholders and clients
TAE***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (we will work with you to achieve this if you don't have it).

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Formal qualification in a relevant or related area
Experience working across a range of platforms such as PC, VR and mobile
Working knowledge of 3D software packaging, game scripting, Maya or equivalent
Please Note
This is a part time (0.7 or 0.8) position with a 5-month probation period.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
You need to hold, or be able to apply for, a current Police Check and Working with Vulnerable Check.
