TradeTools is seeking an experienced Petrol Engine Mechanic to join our busy service workshop.
This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing and maintaining generators, pressure cleaners, compressors, hydraulic tools and small engine equipment used by tradespeople and industry every day.
You will play a key role in ensuring repairs are completed efficiently while delivering the high level of service our customers expect. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped workshop with a supportive team and a company that values long-term careers.

The Role
Working from our Petrol Workshop, you will be responsible for maintaining a productive and efficient repair environment while ensuring customers receive timely and professional service.
Your work will involve the repair and servicing of equipment including:
* Generators
* Pressure cleaners
* Air compressors
* Hydraulic tools
* Small petrol engines and trade equipment
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults and perform repairs and maintenance in a tradesman-like manner
* Complete warranty and non-warranty repairs efficiently
* Coordinate and order parts and warranty supplies
* Maintain accurate parts inventory
* Communicate repair progress with suppliers, staff and customers
* Liaise with Store Managers, Service Manager, Parts Interpreter and warehouse teams
* Provide support and guidance to staff regarding basic tool repairs and product knowledge
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and safety requirements
* Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop
* Participate in stocktakes and inventory management
What We’re Looking For
* Trade qualification as a Petrol Engine Mechanic or similar
* Experience repairing small engines, generators, compressors or industrial equipment
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship
* Positive attitude and professional approach to customer service
