Ryde Hospital – part of a $479 million redevelopment that will transform healthcare delivery for the Ryde community.
What You'll Be Doing
The incumbent will provide appropriate management to deliver effective and efficient fire prevention and management services, supporting clinical services with a patient‐focused approach to care. Primary responsibilities include:
* Coordination and management of fire safety and compliance across the Ryde Hospital campus and Community Health Centre (CHC).
* Ensuring fire services meet and comply with NSW Health policies, Accreditation Standards, and all legislative requirements.
The role also provides expert technical and operational advice to support the Redevelopment, working collaboratively with NSW Health Infrastructure at each stage. It is accountable for the development, review, evaluation, and delivery of relevant fire safety training programmes, ensuring consistency across all facilities within Ryde Hospital and CHC.

Candidate Criteria
* Completion of the Fire Safety Officer (Health) Accreditation Course with Fire and Rescue NSW, or equivalent as per NSW Health Circular No 2010/24; completion of a Module of Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (TAE40110 or equivalent); current NSW Driver's Licence; and a minimum of 2 years experience in the health care industry as a Fire Safety Officer or suitable equivalent.
* Good working knowledge and application of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, building compliance, and all fire regulations/legislation, with demonstrated experience in fire safety, emergency procedures and planning.
* Demonstrated experience managing third‐party service providers to support a strong regulatory and reporting compliance regime and a robust contract‐performance culture.
