Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead and develop the Sunshine Coast structural engineering team
* Mentor Senior Engineers, Engineers, and Graduates
* Drive performance, engagement, and accountability
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning
Technical & Project Oversight
* Maintain oversight of complex structural project delivery
* Ensure QA systems and technical standards are consistently applied
* Provide senior technical guidance and review
* Support the team on high-risk or high‐value work
Business & Financial Performance
* Manage structural team performance against targets
* Forecast workload, staffing, and resourcing
* Contribute to proposals, fees, and commercial strategy
* Report performance updates directly to Directors
Client & Growth Focus
* Maintain and grow key client relationships
* Represent EDGE in meetings and industry forums
* Support long‐term business development and continuity
About You
You're a leader first, structural engineer always.
You bring:
* Typically 10+ years' experience in consulting
* Proven leadership as a Structural Manager / Team Lead / Senior Associate
* Minimum 4+ years of management experience leading structural engineering teams
* Strong knowledge of Australian building structures
* Demonstrated experience in commercial structural engineering projects
* Demonstrated mentoring and people leadership capability
* Commercial awareness and client confidence
* Chartered (or close to) with Engineers Australia
* Professional Engineer membership with Engineers Australia required
* A genuine interest in building teams and long‐term success
