Project Overview
The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non‐Process Infrastructure.
Job Summary
The Rebar Supervisor is responsible for the direct hire scope of works in the Eva Copper Process plant, monitoring the activities of direct hire craft and sub‐contractors and ensuring that construction operations and contractor performance follow project ES&H, quality, and schedule requirements. The position is offered at a FIFO 2:1 roster to North Queensland.
Major Responsibilities
* Monitor construction of direct hire and sub‐contractors, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, schedules, and ES&H plans.
* Coordinate the performance of installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
* Co‐ordinate with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders on earthworks, foundation, and concrete works.
* Plan craft manpower and interface with Industrial Relations for recruitment, hiring, and skills training programs.
* Develop 3‐week look‐ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, and material delivery schedules to maintain continuous construction work fronts.
* Prepare submittals, respond to technical queries, and manage field change documents, drawings, and as‐built documentation.
* Maintain relationships with functional departments and coordinate all jobsite contractual activities.
Education And Experience Requirements
* Preferably a recognized degree in an engineering discipline or minimum 10 years of relevant experience in civil, rebar, and concrete scopes on industrial plants.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in construction projects performing a contractor or EPC/M rebar installation supervisory role.
Required Knowledge And Skills
* Experience on large‐scale civil and concrete projects.
* Experience managing large rebar scopes of work.
* Thorough knowledge of applicable standards, specifications, codes, safety procedures, and practices.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment among client, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Self‐motivated, able to work independently, exercise skilled judgment, and provide technical leadership to contractors and construction engineers.
* Demonstrated knowledge of rebar installations for complex formwork systems and installation processes on similar projects.
