UNDERGROUND SAFETY & TRAINING OFFICER
This is a full-time, site-based role at the Fosterville Gold Mine in Bendigo, Victoria. As the Underground Safety & Training Officer you will be responsible for the support of the Mining and Mine Maintenance teams in all matters relating to Health and Safety Training.
Reporting to the Supervisor - Health and Safety your duties will include:
* Coordinate and assist with provision of health and safety training and assessment for mining operations and maintenance personnel
* Facilitate the underground induction process
* Ensure training systems are effective, aligned with nationally recognised competencies and are consistent with industry best practice
* Develop training and assessment modules supporting operational procedures
* Ensure that operational practices comply with regulatory requirements
* Assist in the development and review of operational procedures to maintain currency with operational work practices
* Ensure health and safety training records are entered and maintained in the records management database (INX)
* Participate in the development of operational JSAs and risk assessments
* Participate in incident investigations and conduct health and safety audits
* Contribute to and champion the promotion and development of health and safety initiatives
* Understand and enact the Site Emergency Response Plans (as required)
What we are looking for:
* Certificate IV Training and Assessment & Certificate IV Work Health & Safety (preferred)
* Experience in underground mining operations
* Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office programs
* Experience in delivering training and assessment modules
* Exposure to risk assessment processes
* Exposure to the ICAM investigation process
The roster for this residential position will be 7 days on 7 days off.
