Sexual Assault Counsellor
This is a challenging role requiring specialist skills and experience in crisis support and ongoing counselling for clients and families.
* Crisis Support:
o Providing immediate assistance to victims of sexual assault and their families.
* Ongoing Counselling:
o Offering guidance and support to individuals affected by sexual assault.
The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications, registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers. They must also demonstrate significant recent experience in crisis support and ongoing counselling, as well as extensive specialist knowledge and clinical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist crisis and ongoing counselling services to clients and families.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to meet the health and wellbeing needs of clients.
* Develop and maintain effective professional and community networks.
* Conduct community education and development activities.
* Maintain accurate records and reports.
Selection Criteria:
* Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Demonstrated skills and significant recent experience in crisis support and ongoing counselling.
* Extensive specialist knowledge, clinical proficiency, and ability to work as a sexual assault counsellor with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective professional and community networks.
* Demonstrated understanding of issues involved in working with sexual assault service clients.
