Overview
Our client specializes in facility management, maintenance and operational support services. They are seeking an experienced Turf Maintenance Team Lead to coordinate and deliver high-quality horticultural and turf maintenance services. This role involves hands-on work combined with supervision, planning, and leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and professional outcomes across parks, gardens, and landscaped assets. The position is based at Burswood Park.
Working Hours
* Summer (September - May): Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:06pm
* Winter (June - August): Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm
Pay Rate
$38 - $43 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, coordinate, and deliver horticultural and turf maintenance programs.
* Undertake hands-on maintenance activities including planting, pruning, mulching, mowing, and spraying as required.
* Lead, supervise, and support on-site staff and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work outcomes.
* Schedule daily work activities, allocate resources, and manage the use of equipment and small plant.
* Conduct regular audits of work quality, tools, equipment, and site presentation.
* Monitor asset conditions and complete inspections and reporting using digital systems.
* Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all WHS policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Key Requirements
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
* Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
* Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
* Comprehensive understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements within the horticulture industry.
* Extensive experience in horticultural and turf management.
* Practical knowledge of commercial irrigation system maintenance.
* Experience working within municipal or commercial parks and gardens environments.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
