About the role
The Solution Architect will support the PMO through providing an overall understanding of the technical solutions, interconnections and implications of ICT projects within the PMO remit. They will have a hands-on role in preparing documents for Enterprise Architecture review, solving technical challenges, particularly as they arise between projects. The Solution Architect will provide support to the Program and Project Managers, Risk and Issues managers and senior staff to ensure sound management of all technical matters that arise at the Program Management level.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with PMO to support 15-16 ICT projects and an entire ICT environment transformation.
* Develop and implement solution architectures that meet business requirements and align with the client's strategic goals.
* Highlight and analyse technical risks and issues
* Undertake quality control checks of technical documents
* Produce high-quality architectural artefacts, including high-level and detailed designs.
* Ensure solutions adhere to security standards and best practices.
* Work closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and business analysts, to ensure successful project delivery.
* Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
* Facilitate program reporting, risk management, and assurance activities across multiple projects
Key Requirements
* Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
* Substantial experience in ICT architecture, cloud migration.
* Exposure to high-security environments and understanding of security requirements.
* Hands-on experience in producing architectural artefacts.
* Ability to work effectively with non-technical and technical specialists.
* Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
Desirable
* Relevant industry certifications such as TOGAF or Zachman.
* Experience in government or large-scale enterprise environments.
* TOGAF or Zachman (or equivalent).
