We are seeking a skilled and qualified Carpenter (ANZSCO 331212) to join our team. The role involves constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures, fixtures, furniture, and fittings to a high standard of quality and safety. Task & responsibilities
- Study drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join timber and timber substitutes.
- Construct frameworks, furniture, staircases, doors, windows, and other wooden structures.
- Install wooden fixtures, fittings, and structures such as cupboards, shelving, flooring, and partitions.
- Repair and maintain existing wooden items, ensuring safety and functionality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure work meets relevant building codes, safety standards, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with builders, tradespeople, and other professionals on construction projects.
- Estimate costs, prepare materials lists, and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.
Qualification & experience
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification (AQF standard).
- Minimum of two years relevant work experience in carpentry or construction.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety standards.
