ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Site Surveillance Officer, you'll provide assurance that the contractor is following their project quality system and that the works comply with the specified requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General:
* Assume responsibility for the implementation of the Indesco QA & Business Management System on projects;
* Implement the company's WHS & EMS policies;
* Maintain a program of continuous self-improvement and professional development
Site Surveillance:
* Work in accordance with the quality system procedures and assist in identification of non-conformances including suggestions for improvement of the quality system;
* Ensure activities on site comply with the contract specification and the quality requirement of the contract;
* Ensure site inspections and tests are carried out in accordance with the construction surveillance plans and the contractors inspection test plans;
* Maintaining records of all site inspections and tests;
* Ensuring that the latest revisions of drawings and schedules are in use;
* Monitor sediment and erosion control measures and temporary traffic control measures
WHS:
* Review, monitor and report on the contractor's WH&S practices on-site;
* Comply with Indesco SWMS's for the project;
* Participate in project specific site induction and comply with WHS Management Plan;
* Complete Site Visit Records with respect to WHS and environmental controls;
* Evaluate and release hold points with respect to existing site services before commencement of excavation activities or work near overhead power;
* Participate in site safety audits;
* Report any safety issues identified and record unsafe site practices
* Immediately notify the Regulator (WorkSafe ACT) of any reportable incident

ABOUT YOU
* Minimum 3-4 years' experience in site surveillance.
* Experience in a civil engineering or landscape construction company and/or design and documentation experience in a consultants' office, is desirable.
* Knowledge of WHS Acts/Legislation and Environment Legislation desirable.
* Exhibits a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
* Communicates effectively and professionally, fostering strong relationships within project teams and with stakeholders
* Formal qualifications in construction, construction management or engineering are desirable
