The Role
As a few OG members of staff head overseas to stretch the wings, tied together with the upcoming expansion of the venue, Equium Social are seeking a passionate and skilled FOH supervisor/2IC to join our team! You'll work in a beautifully designed space, alongside the General Manager/Head Chef and backed by an inclusive team of 25+ with a vibrant culture of excellence. If you have a genuine warmth and enthusiasm for engaging with guests, we are looking for you!
This role can be either Full- time or part-time. Schedule is negotiable at time of interview - due to the business structure, weekend availability is paramount.
Key Responsibilities
* Mentor and inspire a team of baristas, fostering a strong coffee culture.
* Deliver consistently excellent coffee and service, guiding the FOH team in coffee knowledge and customer interaction.
* Maintain the highest standards in coffee preparation and equipment maintenance.
* Contribute to coffee menu development and embrace emerging brewing techniques.
* Support the Head Barista with inventory, waste reduction, and workflow optimisation.
* Prepare espresso and filter coffees with consistency and attention to detail.
* Greet and seat guests, guide them through our menu, and provide a polished, personable (but casual) service experience.
* With the expansion of the venue, there will be a sharp focus on offering a classic, yet casual approach to cocktails, wine and spirits.
The Fine Print
* 2–3+ years’ experience in specialty coffee or premium hospitality (Barista roles require leadership experience in high-volume settings).
* Deep knowledge of espresso machines, filter brewing methods, and coffee preparation standards.
* Cocktail and wine knowledge / NSW RSA qualification.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* A team-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Availability to work weekends and occasional evenings (1 weekend day off as standard).
