One of our clients is looking to hire a Cyber Security Testing Specialist for a contract based in Adelaide
Key Skills & Experience
Plan, coordinate, and deliver cybersecurity testing activities across remediation, assurance, detection, and platform rollout initiatives.
* Develop and execute security test plans, test cases, and validation activities aligned to approved cyber standards and project requirements.
* Validate remediation and hardening activities, including:
o Vulnerability remediation and configuration hardening
o Identity, email, endpoint, and platform security controls
o Post-implementation assurance and regression testing
* Execute and support cyber assurance testing, including penetration testing coordination, compliance testing, and control effectiveness validation.
* Validate security monitoring and detection controls, including SIEM use cases, authentication flows, and SOC alerting effectiveness.
* Perform security testing for cyber platform rollouts, ensuring solutions are securely configured, integrated, and ready for production use.
* Produce clear, evidence-based testing artefacts, including test results, findings, risk assessments, and remediation validation evidence.
* Work collaboratively with project managers, delivery teams, cyber security teams, and vendors to support secure and timely delivery outcomes.
* Provide testing input into risk registers, assurance reporting, and executive-level cyber reporting where required.
* Ensure testing activities comply with Test Services standards, methodologies, and governance under the direction of the Manager, Test Services.
Skills and Capabilities
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, controls, and risk management practices.
* Demonstrated capability in security testing and validation, including vulnerability, configuration, and control effectiveness testing.
* Knowledge of enterprise cyber domains such as:
o Identity and Access Management
o Endpoint and server security
o Network, cloud, and application security
o SIEM, SOC, and threat detection
* Ability to translate security requirements into practical, repeatable test scenarios.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess findings, prioritise risk, and clearly articulate outcomes.
* Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work in customer facing roles.
* Experience producing high quality documentation and assurance evidence suitable for audit and governance purposes.
* Ability to work across multiple concurrent initiatives and adapt to changing delivery priorities.
Experience
* Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity testing, technology testing, or security assurance roles.
* Experience working within enterprise IT project environments or large, complex organisations.
* Hands on experience supporting or validating:
o Security remediation and uplift initiatives
o Platform or tooling implementations
o Assurance, audit, or compliance activities
* Familiarity with structured testing methodologies and quality assurance practices.
* Experience working collaboratively with project managers and delivery teams in a matrix reporting environment.
* Experience with end to end defect management and reporting using JIRA and Zephyr, including test case creation and execution, bug tracking, defect triage, maintenance of traceability matrices, and development of testing dashboards to support effective quality assurance and reporting.
