Motor Claims Specialist – Severe Weather Support
Location: Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia
* Contract Type: Full‑time, 6‑month contract
* Start Date: Monday 15 December 2025
* End Date: Friday 12 June 2026
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, start window 8:00–10:00 am (hybrid working)
* Salary: $79,500 including super
When severe weather impacts our communities, our customers turn to us first. As a Motor Claims Specialist, you'll guide customers through the claims process after significant vehicle damage, providing support, guidance, and reassurance from the very first conversation.
What I Do As a Motor Claims Specialist
* Listen, really listen: Customers dealing with major storm damage are often stressed or overwhelmed. I help them feel heard and supported from the first call.
* Guide them through the next steps: I explain what's covered, what happens next and make the process feel simple and manageable.
* Make fair, confident decisions: I balance empathy with clear policy requirements to reach the right outcome.
* Manage claims end‑to‑end: I keep each claim progressing so customers can get back on the road sooner.
* Solve problems thoughtfully: Every situation is different. I think critically to find the best path forward.
* Stay across the detail: Accurate documentation helps maintain trust and momentum.
* Lean on the team: Weather events can create high‑volume days, but we debrief, support each other and stay human.
