Mental Health Intake & Assessment Coordinater

Our team of Psychiatrists, Nursing and Allied Health professionals and support services provide expert care to manage patient in specialties, including PTSD (First Responders/Veterans), Addictions and General Mental Health. We offer a holistic approach with treatment provided in a safe, Trauma Informed, supportive environment for inpatients, day patients and outpatients.

About the Role
Kellyville Private Hospital is looking for an experienced Full‐time Clinical Nurse Consultant who has comprehensive knowledge in mental health assessment as well as strong technical and organisational skills to facilitate inpatient admission and working in a multidisciplinary team with psychiatrists, allied health, nursing and administration staff.
This person will act as a conjoint to the hospital in building relationships and assessing patients eligible for admission to Kellyville Private Hospital. The role is hospital based and works as an integral component to the team and Psychiatrists in mental health assessment.
This position will be the centre point of contact for patients, referrers and our clinicians to support the smooth transition of patients between our services and programs.
Qualifications
* Current registration with APHRA
* Registered Nurse with mental health experience
* Experience in admission and intake in a Private Hospital setting, preferably within mental health.
* Mental health triage skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with consumers, carers, staff, external stakeholders and members of the public
* Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus in patient centred care
* Strong, collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well‐developed verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Demonstrated understanding of Mental Health Act and services, with the ability to apply it when assessing suitability for admission to Kellyville Private Hospital
* Experience in a similar role is highly desirable
* Knowledge of health fund rules and prior private hospital experience highly regarded
