Job Overview

The Bureau of Meteorology plays a vital role in Australia's weather, climate, water, oceans and space weather agency.

We are undertaking a program to enhance our aviation related systems, delivering a more flexible, responsive, and cost-effective service that meets the growing needs of the aviation industry.

This position will join the team responsible for development, configuration, deployment and support of critical Aviation systems for key users including Forecasting Operations centres in Melbourne and Brisbane.


About the Role

* As a member of IT professionals providing 24x7 critical ongoing support and preventative maintenance for applications supporting the Weather (including Aviation and Community Services) and Climate sectors.
* Develop, configure, deploy and support critical Aviation systems for key users.
* Provide secondary support for other applications supported by the team.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved with interactions with application and system vendors as well as other technical teams and forecasting experts across the Bureau.


Requirements

* Exceptional technical analysis, problem solving, communication and teamwork skills are required.
* Flexibility and a willingness to learn new technologies are essential.
