About the role:
We are seeking an Operations Manager in Melbourne, Victoria – to be responsible for the operational running of our surface division. Success in the role will be a high retention of clients and staff, recruitment and development of team members, staff and client issue resolution and supporting the State Manager in identifying business development opportunities and preparing and submitting proposals.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage and facilitate project startups by assessing client needs and developing suitable solutions
* Manage surveyor and equipment resources to ensure the delivery of exceptional service to all clients
* Contribute to and participate in marketing communications in relation to the operations
* Assist the State Manager by identifying business development opportunities and prepare/submit proposals
* Manage the accounting and financial expectations (invoicing) each month
* Manage the day-to-day client relationship to ensure that the client's needs are met
* Manage the scheduling and day-to-day workflow of technical staff
* Establish budgets and forecasts associated with meeting work programs and projects
* Manage systems and procedures relating to technical performance

* Experience providing survey services to large scale construction projects at a senior level
* Proven experience in people management
* Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
* Wide network of contacts in the engineering, construction and mining industries
Key requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in surveying or related spatial discipline
