Job Title:

Information Systems Security Officer

The role of the Information Systems Security Officer is to ensure the security and integrity of our information systems. This involves working closely with the Information Systems Security Manager to develop and implement operational information systems security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

The key responsibilities of this role include conducting periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization packages and notifying the ISSM of any changes that may affect the authorization determination of the system(s).

In addition, the ISSO will coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change.

The ISSO will also monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly.

Furthermore, the ISSO will ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals and collect, review, and document audit records, including any anomalies.

The ISSO will attend required technical and security training relative to assigned duties and execute the cyber security portion of self-inspection, including providing security coordination and review of all system assessment plans.

The ISSO will identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of countermeasures and prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field and possess CISSP, Security +, or equivalent certification.

A minimum of 2 years' experience in an ISSO role with IA Certifications is also required, as well as experience in Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD 503) and Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Meets DoD 8570.1 Certification Requirements as an Information Assurance Technical Category II (IAT II) minimum, Linux experience preferred.

Prior experience in roles such as System, Network Administrator, or ISSO is also desired, along with knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, and technical report writing.

Excellent communication skills, ability to brief at all levels, demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team, ability to adapt to change, positive outlook, willingness to collaborate, demonstrated customer focus, ability to demonstrate understanding and commitment to workplace diversity and equity, and EH&S requirements are also necessary for this position.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a related field.
* CISSP, Security +, or equivalent certification.
* MCSA or equivalent certification.


Desirable Qualifications:

* Driver's License.
