About the Opportunity:
Reporting into the Engineering Work Package Lead (SIMS), the Software Engineer will support the developing replacement frameworks for our existing bespoke information system using HTML5, CSS and Typescript.
The successful candidate will bring their experience in these technologies and join an existing team developing and supporting the new framework.
The project provides long term support and feature enhancement to an Information System to support the operation of the Collins Class submarines.
Responsibilities:
* Work within defined requirements to architect, code and test in HTML5, Typescript and CSS.
* Be able to support definition of the architecture of the new framework.
* Provide guidance to the team in these technologies
* Participate in peer reviews of design and code.
* An integral part of this role will also include working through all the phases of the SDL, including requirements, design, code and verification.
* Work within a multi-disciplined team of systems and software engineers.
About You:
* Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering or Computer Science.
* You must have proven experience in developing single page applications using HTML5, CSS and Typescript.
* The ability to interpret Java code.
* Exposure to all phases of the software development cycle is desirable.
* Exposure across various programming languages including C# and SQL is desirable.
* The ability to investigate software issues and perform remediate actions.
* The ability to liaise and communicate effectively with external parties.
* Exposure in producing and review technical documentation and reports on software systems.
Eligibility:
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
