About the role
We have an opportunity for a Security Control Lead to be part of our Cyber Security, Threat & Vulnerability, Technology & Communication Services Command team. The Security Control Lead oversees and executes comprehensive security control assessments to ensure the organisation's information systems are secure and compliant with relevant regulations and standards. The role leads a team of control assessors, coordinating and conducting assessment activities, and providing expert analysis of security controls to mitigate risks.
Working in the Cyber Defence Centre as part of the Technology & Communication Services Command of NSW Police offers the chance to contribute to one of the largest police forces in the western world while shaping cutting-edge capabilities that directly enhance community safety and modern policing. It also provides exposure to rapidly evolving cyber environments, next-generation policing systems, and a growing, well-resourced team committed to combating emerging digital threats. This role allows candidates to shape security controls that protect millions of citizens and thousands of frontline officers and provides candidate with opportunity to design, embed, and optimise security controls across cloud, on‐prem, operational technology, and specialised policing systems. The candidate gets hands‐on influence in orchestrating modern controls, building automation, and improving detection/prevention capabilities.
