As we continue to grow our presence in the Esperance region, we are seeking an experienced and driven Depot Supervisor to lead our local operations and uphold our commitment to excellence.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role for a seasoned traffic management professional ready to take ownership of depot operations in Esperance. As Depot Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our local fleet, personnel, and client relationships ensuring seamless service delivery and the highest standards of safety and compliance.
You will be the face of SJ Traffic Management in Esperance, working closely with clients, on-road teams, and the broader management group to keep operations running efficiently and to the standard our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
Traffic Management & Planning
Review TMPs prepared by team members, providing constructive feedback to ensure plans are safe, practical, and fit for purpose.
Conduct thorough risk and hazard identification during the planning phase, with clearly documented controls.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders including clients, Main Roads WA, local councils, emergency services, and public transport authorities.
Conduct site inspections prior to TMP preparation and manage all permit applications in a timely manner.
Fleet & Operations Management
Oversee the scheduling and deployment of personnel, vehicles, and equipment to meet client project requirements.
Coordinate all fleet maintenance, servicing, and repair activities to minimise downtime and maintain operational readiness.
Monitor fleet utilisation and maintain accurate records for internal reporting.
Respond effectively to dynamic operational changes, reallocating resources to address emerging demands or project variations.
Client Relationships
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients across the Esperance region, providing professional, timely, and proactive communication.
Build and maintain strong, long‐term client relationships founded on trust, reliability, and quality service delivery.
Provide clear updates on project progress and manage any issues or scope changes with professionalism and efficiency.
Lead and support depot staff through pre-starts, toolboxes, on-the-job guidance, and performance coaching.
Foster a positive, safety-first workplace culture that promotes accountability and professional development.
Conduct routine site audits to ensure adherence to traffic management legislation and company standards.
Maintain compliance records across personnel, equipment, and vehicles.
Prepare and contribute to operational reports tracking KPIs, incidents, and performance metrics.
Minimum 3 years' experiencein traffic management operations.
Current BWTM and TC certifications (AWTM highly regarded).
Strong understanding of traffic management legislation and relevant Australian Standards.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional service outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in fleet coordination and operational scheduling.
Proficiency in scheduling platforms (e.g. Traffio) and the MS Office suite.
Solid leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the Esperance region as required.
