**Your opportunity**
If you're looking for a new challenge that adds something extra to your life, a part-time opportunity in the Army could be for you.
We are on the lookout for people who want to add a little bit of adventure and excitement to their lives, while doing something meaningful. The Army has a range of part-time roles available offering a flexible time commitment. Whether you're interested in a combat position as an Infantry Soldier, Combat Engineer or Armoured Vehicle Crew member, or you want to use your existing skillset as a qualified tradesperson or health professional, there is a part-time role for almost everyone.
In the Army, you'll step out of your comfort zone, improve your fitness and make friends for life. You will also learn valuable skills that are transferable to your full-time career. In addition to the rewarding work, you can earn tax-free pay for your efforts.
The Army also plays a big part in helping the community. In the past, part-time positions in the Army have helped out during bushfire season, disaster relief and peacekeeping operations. Now you could be part of it. You can work locally at a base near you, but you'll also have opportunities to see more of Australia and travel overseas on deployment if you wish.
**Life in the Army**
Thousands of men and women enjoy part-time roles with the Army, operating alongside full-time Army personnel. The only difference is that your commitment is flexible.
Initial training length will vary based on your chosen role, after which you will normally be expected to serve between 20 and 100 days per year. This could involve one night a week, one weekend a month or a few weeks a year.
We do our best to make sure this fits in with your work and family commitments; and deployments are voluntary so if you choose to stay local, there are plenty of ways to make a difference closer to home. And with no minimum period of service, you can leave the Army whenever you like.
**Get Paid**

The pay you receive goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax, and it increases as you gain seniority and experience. Your pay will depend on your chosen role, however the daily rate can range from $188 for an Infantry Soldier to $748 for a specialist Anaesthetist Officer, as an example.
Additional amounts are paid for time spent on exercises and deployments.
