This is a 12-month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP
The Schools Group develops overall strategic directions for promoting and developing Government schools. The Group is responsible for:
* providing educational leadership to regions and schools
* promoting excellence in teaching practice and learning outcomes
* developing and implementing operational policies to achieve outcomes
* setting directions for the delivery of services
The Role
If successful, you will provide high-level executive support to the Deputy Director General, Schools, contributing to the effective operation of the Office. In this role, you will manage a broad range of administrative and operational responsibilities, including appointment scheduling, enquiry management, and the coordination and quality assurance of Ministerial responses and briefing documents. Your ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, maintain accurate records, track Ministerial and Divisional correspondence, and manage travel and accommodation logistics will be vital to the Division's overall efficiency.
This role requires outstanding organisational, time management, and communication skills. You will be a positive can-do person who will engage with staff and Executive Leaders across the Department, as well as with other government agencies, to support the Deputy Director General's commitments. You will be expected to manage confidential matters with discretion and ensure timely, professional responses. Financial administration duties include payment processing, regular reporting, and monitoring of travel-related expenses.
You will work collaboratively with team members to support the smooth, efficient functioning of the Office, fostering a proactive, welcoming, and professional environment.
