Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation - Cairns, QLD
The opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role with one of Far North Queensland's most trusted charities at a time of strong momentum.
As Fundraising and Marketing Manager, you will shape strategy, lead a high-performing team, and grow sustainable income that directly improves health care for communities across Far North Queensland. Your work will influence how donors, partners and the wider community connect with better care, closer to home.
After 21 years of dedicated service, our long-standing Fundraising and Marketing Manager is preparing to hand over the role. You will be supported through a considered transition, with time for knowledge transfer and relationship handover.
Based in Cairns, this role offers the opportunity to combine senior leadership with an exceptional lifestyle.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, you will lead a committed team and deliver integrated fundraising and marketing activities that strengthen our brand and deepen supporter engagement.
You will provide strong governance, disciplined financial management, and high-quality reporting to the CEO and Board. You will also build trusted relationships with donors, partners, volunteers and health service stakeholders, keeping supporter experience and community impact at the centre of your work.
What you will do
* Lead the Foundation's fundraising, marketing, digital and events functions with clear priorities and integrated planning.
* Grow income across major gifts, corporate partnerships, campaigns and appeals, community fundraising, bequests, and workplace and payroll giving.
* Build and manage a structured major giving pipeline, from prospecting through to stewardship.
* Strengthen donor retention through excellent supporter care, segmentation and experience design.
* Oversee brand and communications, including digital fundraising and campaign optimisation.
* Provide leadership oversight of grants strategy, including submissions and acquittals.
* Lead CRM optimisation and data governance, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting and KPI tracking.
* Manage budgets and monitor performance, providing timely insight on income, expenditure and trends.
* Identify and manage operational, reputational, data and event-related risks, ensuring compliance with fundraising and privacy obligations.
About you
You are a confident, values-led leader with experience driving fundraising growth in a not-for-profit or similarly complex environment.
You bring:
* Proven experience leading fundraising programs, with major gifts and or partnerships highly regarded.
* Strong CRM and data-led fundraising capability, including segmentation, pipeline management and reporting discipline.
* Experience using CRM systems to support donor management and analysis.
* Solid budgeting, forecasting and performance management skills.
* A track record of building high-performing teams and a culture of stewardship and accountability.
* Sound understanding of fundraising governance, compliance and risk management.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.
* Experience in health, charity or complex stakeholder environments is an advantage.
You do not need to bring experience in every area. We are looking for strong leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to build capability over time.
The Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation has contributed more than $29 million to enhance health care across the region. Our social enterprises cover our operating costs, so every donation directly improves care for patients, families and health workers.
You will join a highly committed team and play a visible leadership role in delivering meaningful outcomes for Far North Queensland.
