**Your new company**
This high-profile Federal Government Authority responsible to ensure that Canberra and the Territory are planned and developed in accordance with their national significance through a National Plan is seeking a EL1 Governance Manager to join their Governance and Legal Services team due to upcoming changes within the team.
**Your new role**
You will support the team with a variety of core components under the direction of General Counsel. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Perform functions of the secretariat for the Authority including preparing annual meeting schedule, meeting agendas, collation of draft papers for meetings, preparation of minutes and action items, and any out of session or exceptional meetings.
- Perform the functions of the secretariat for each of the Audit and Risk Committee including preparing annual meeting schedule, meeting agendas, collation of draft papers for meetings, preparation of minutes and action items.
- Manage the internal audit function for the Authority including preparing the internal audit program.
- Manage the preparation of the Authority Corporate Plan and Annual report each year.
- Coordinate the preparation of the Authority performance measures with the Manager and Special Projects including preparation of annual performance statement and Audit and Risk committee assurance letter.
- Manage the corporate fraud control function including regular review and maintenance of the Fraud Control Plan.
- Review and maintain the corporate calendar for the team.
- Contribute to statutory reporting including the annual fraud survey as required.
- Perform other duties for the team as required.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful for this position you will have previous experience within a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbally, the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, high level of attention to detail, the ability to work independently and as a team, the ability to work in a face pace environment, the ability to use initiative and manage competing priorities.
