We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead operations within our busy and fast-paced meat production facility. This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) offering the opportunity to play a key leadership role in a well-established and growing Australian business. About the Role
As Production Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day running of production operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and product quality across all processes. You will lead and develop a production team while driving performance against key operational targets. This role is critical in maintaining our high standards of food safety, workplace safety, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Lead, supervise and develop production teams to achieve daily and weekly output targets
* Ensure strict compliance with Australian food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and workplace health & safety (WHS) standards
* Manage production scheduling and workflow to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime
* Monitor KPIs, labour performance, yield, and waste reduction
* Maintain quality standards in line with customer and regulatory requirements
* Oversee staff training, performance management, and workforce planning
* Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production floor
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience in a Production Manager or similar leadership role
* Experience within the meat processing or food manufacturing industry (highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety standards, and Australian WHS legislation
* Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a fast-paced production environment
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Excellent communication and leadership capabilities
* A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
