Responsibilities
* Lead a crew with guidance from managers and supervisors.
* Assist in planning workshop production to maximise productivity and efficiency.
* Perform fabrication duties and welding techniques, including GMAW and FCAW, with the ability to pass AS1554.1 weld tests if required.
* Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Provide training and mentoring of apprentices and production employees.
* Act as a key resource for problem solving, offering guidance and support.
* Source and provide technical information and advice to staff and operations personnel.
* Ensure infrastructure (plant and services, tools and equipment, jigs and fixtures, materials handling, etc.) is regularly checked and kept in good working order.
* Ensure all workshop activities comply with ISO9001, Bradken policies and procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
* Participate in internal and external audits where required.
* Assist in the development and installation of capital proposals where required.
To Be Successful
* Enthusiasm and passion to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.
* Champion safety, mentor less experienced staff, and help deliver great results.
* Recognised trade qualification (Engineering Fabrication preferred).
* 5+ years' fabrication trade experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of safe working procedures.
* Sound numeric reasoning.
* Strong communication skills.
* Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
