About the Role
You'll play a key role in a small but mighty engineering team collaborating closely with Matt Winter, our CTO (ex‑Google and Microsoft), to build Prophet's systems for scale, speed, and resilience. Your mission: design and implement backend architecture and infrastructure that's fast, reliable, and ready for global scale. You'll have a voice in every technical decision—from systems design and deployment to data pipelines and performance optimisation. This is a hands‑on role where you'll ship code, shape architecture, and lay the foundations for a platform built to last.

Technical Skills Required
* Golang — deep expertise (essential)
* Google Cloud Platform — hands‑on experience deploying and operating at scale
* PostgreSQL — strong database design and optimisation skills
* CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code — familiarity with Terraform or similar
* Will consider: Experience with C, Rust, or other systems‑level languages
What You Bring
* Proven experience building and operating high‑performing, scalable web applications — ideally in high‑growth SaaS environments.
* Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, security, and long‑term maintainability.
* A strong track record of designing systems for multi‑region or high‑availability environments.
* A commitment to clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code — and a belief in testing as a key part of the craft.
* Excellent communication skills — you can explain complex ideas clearly, listen actively, and collaborate with empathy.
