The People, Property and Security Division works in partnership to deliver strategic and operational workforce services that enable and enhance organisational capability. The division provides stewardship, support and services across integrity; conduct; property; fraud and corruption; security; performance management; rehabilitation management; recruitment; learning and development; inclusion and diversity; workforce planning and analytics; workplace relations; people support; culture and health, safety and wellbeing.
The People and Policy Branch are the front line of human resources (HR) for the department. We deliver timely and accurate responses to various client groups and support our people across the country with a solid focus on customer service and building trusting relationships with employees and business areas. We offer general and specialist HR advice and case management services for issues related to workplace relations, performance, probation, attendance, behaviour and workplace rehabilitation. The branch also includes a dedicated team that support our Senior Executive Service (SES) cohort and overseas deployments.

The Job
Key duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- lead and manage end-to-end case management processes related to performance, attendance, and behavioural matters
- provide strategic and operational advice to leaders on employee relations issues, ensuring alignment with policies, procedures, and best practice
- partner with stakeholders to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for proactive interventions.
- support the development and delivery of training and capability-building initiatives to strengthen leadership and employee engagement
- maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of HR practices and frameworks.
Please note:
- This recruitment process will initially be used to fill one vacancy on an ongoing basis, and role is located in Melbourne, VIC (Moonee Ponds as the work location).
- The merit pool established through this selection process, will be valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette. The merit pool may be used to fill future or anticipated vacancies within the branch across other states and territories where we have office locations.
