**About the role**
**About you**
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person who has:
- A degree in Cultural Heritage Management, Anthropology, Archaeology or other degree Umwelt considers relevant to the role
- Previous relevant cultural heritage industry experience (8+ years), preferably in a consulting context in Western Australia, though other relevant industry experiences may be considered
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Western Australian and Commonwealth heritage legislation, associated regulations, and guidelines
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Preparing proposals and quotations for heritage projects
- Undertaking desktop research and review of projects and the heritage environment to understand client risk, approval requirements and assessment needs
- Leading cultural heritage field work, including archaeological surveys and excavations
- Artefact identification and recording
- Delivering to the consultation requirements of the WA Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972
- Collating, analysing and synthesizing data and preparation of desktop, field, and consultation outcomes
- Presenting technical findings and relaying information to non-technical persons, including clients and community
- Preparation and completion of technical reports to a high quality and standard
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other professional, community members and stakeholders as part of a cooperative working environment to delivery high quality results
- Commitment to workplace health and safety requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- The ability to be a creative and innovative thinker
- Curiosity, resilience, and empathy
- An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- A team player who is organised, shows initiative, and is motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Current Australian Drivers licence
It is desirable, though not essential, that you could also:
- Undertake anthropological work, including in-depth interviews and cultural mapping activities with First Nations peoples
- Have experience with assessing submerged cultural landscapes and values, and/or other forms of underwater cultural heritage
