Position Overview
We are seeking a creative Assistant Designer / Product Developer to support the end-to-end product development process across multiple categories. Working closely with the Melbourne team and overseas head office teams, this collaborative role supports the creation of globally relevant, trend‐led product aligned with the brand direction and customer.
The ideal candidate is highly organised, agile, and solutions‐focused, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects within a fast‐paced environment while maintaining quality, fit, and design integrity.
Key Responsibilities
* Support seasonal trend research across colour, fabric, silhouette, and key fashion directions relevant to the global market
* Create CADs, technical sketches, flat drawings, and design specifications using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
* Assist in developing commercially relevant product ranges while preparing and maintaining accurate tech packs, specification sheets, and product documentation within the PLM system
* Collaborate with overseas head office teams to develop new styles, source fabrics and trims, and finalise specifications and costings
* Manage sampling timelines, track the critical path, and support product development to meet key launch and photoshoot deadlines
* Review samples and fittings, updating comments and specifications to ensure fit, quality, workmanship, and design intent are maintained
* Liaise with Buying, Production, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to support product launches, quality standards, margin requirements, and delivery timelines
* Assist in resolving development and production issues proactively to minimise delays and maintain product integrity
* Conduct market and competitor research to identify emerging trends, fabric innovations, and new product opportunities globally
* Maintain strong organisation across multiple categories and fast‐moving development timelines
Requirements
* 2+ years' experience in Fashion Design and/or Product Development, preferably within fast fashion, online retail, or contemporary fashion brands
* Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrics, and manufacturing processes
* Experience working with overseas head office teams and factories, particularly within Asia
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously
* Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem‐solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a fast‐paced and agile environment
* Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or related field preferred
