The Defence Fuels Network (DFN) is an extensive network of more than 100 Defence Fuel Installations (DFIs) across Australia, providing fuel for Army, Navy, and Air Force operations. The Defence Fuels Network Managing Contractor Contract (DFN MCC) involves UGL partnering with the Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) to deliver strategic and recurring services to Australia's Defence Forces in Fuel and Inventory Management, Asset, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations Management, while enhancing Australian supply chain participation.
The Opportunity
Great opportunity for an Engineer to step into a stable operations and maintenance role supporting the defence sector. Be part of a growing team delivering essential services and contributing to meaningful projects.
This role is based in Darwin and will require relocation, which UGL will support.
Key responsibilities:
1. Leading engineering design reviews for minor project works.
2. Developing scopes of work, setting clear expectations, and managing subcontractors to deliver outcomes across various projects.
3. Conducting multidisciplinary engineering investigations and root cause analyses to address operational challenges.
4. Engaging Subject Matter Experts to ensure timely achievement of outcomes.
5. Assisting with asset return to service by reviewing QA documentation.
6. Developing in-depth knowledge of assigned sites to support operational continuity and providing backup support for Superintendents and Supervisors.
Ideal attributes
While the following attributes are highly desired, applications are welcome even if you do not meet all criteria. All applications will be considered.
* Experience as a Project Engineer in the Petrochemical, Oil, and Gas industry, with Tank Storage experience being highly regarded.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in due diligence and asset evaluation.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risks, assess conditions, and make sound recommendations.
* Only Australian Citizens can be considered due to Defence Clearance requirements.
