We're looking for a Leading Hand / Foreman who can run a site properly, lead a crew well, and stay hands-on. Someone who plans ahead, solves problems early, and won't walk past a detail that isn't right.
The role (working foreman)
You'll be on the tools and leading from the front – setting the pace, the standard, and the tone on site.
What you'll be doing
* Leading a small team and coordinating day-to-day site works
* Heritage carpentry and restoration work (repair, replacement, integration of new work into old)
* Finish carpentry and detailed interior work: trims, reveals, junctions, shadow lines, set-outs
* Framing, cladding, and general carpentry as required across restoration projects
* Reading plans, setting out accurately, and making smart calls when site conditions require it
* Quality control throughout: keeping work plumb, level, square, straight, and consistent
* Problem solving without drama: finding solutions that protect the finish and the timeline
* Clear communication with trades, clients, and the wider team: including the confidence to speak up early
* Maintaining a tidy, respectful site (these are premium homes and high-trust clients)
What we're looking for
* 3–5+ years post-apprenticeship experience
* Certificate III in Carpentry required
* Experience as a site foreman / leading hand (or ready to step into it with proven leadership on site)
* Strong all-round carpentry skills
* High attention to detail and pride in clean, accurate work
* Forward-thinking and organised: you plan the sequence and set the team up to win
* Strong people skills: you can lead, manage, and keep the culture solid
* A calm operator who owns outcomes and backs the standard
* Australian citizenship required for this position
Heritage experience
Preferred, not essential. If you've got strong fundamentals, good judgement, and you care about doing it properly, we're interested.
