Our Client
Our client consists of nine directorates and a range of bodies, statutory authorities and territory-owned corporations which form the public service. These directorates cover health and health services, treasury and economic development, community services, education, environment and planning, justice and community safety, transport and infrastructure, utilities and essential services that support the ACT.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the most significant health infrastructure programs in the region. You will take ownership of a large-scale, high-profile hospital project from planning through to delivery and commissioning, working across government, clinical stakeholders, and Tier 1 contractors. The role sits at a senior executive level and will shape how critical health services are delivered for the community into the future.
Your duties will include:
* Lead end-to-end delivery of a major health infrastructure project across planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning
* Manage commercial strategy, procurement processes, and contractor engagement including complex contract models
* Provide strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary team of project staff and specialist consultants
* Oversee governance, risk, and probity frameworks to ensure compliance with government requirements
* Engage with senior stakeholders including government executives, clinicians, and community representatives
* Deliver high-quality reporting and strategic advice to executive leadership and project boards
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
* Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects within mega-project environments
* Demonstrated experience delivering health infrastructure projects, including hospitals or major clinical facilities
* Strong construction phase delivery experience, with direct involvement in site-based execution and contractor management
* Proven ability to lead and manage large, multidisciplinary teams within complex project environments
* Delivery experience on $1B+ projects, or alternatively multiple major projects with a value of $300M-$500M+
* Demonstrated knowledge and application of Australian Building Codes, Standards, and regulatory requirements
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing Tier 1 contractors and complex contracting models (e.g. alliance, D&C, ECI/VECI)
