Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As an AOD Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey.
About the Role:
This is a fixed-term full-time position with part-time hours negotiable for the right applicant. You will work closely with our AOD Case Managers to provide hands-on support, encouragement, and opportunities to build practical life skills that promote lasting change.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide practical, client-centred support to clients in an integrated and collaborative manner
* Provide clear and accurate information regarding our programs to clients
* Maintain client confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
* Attend to reporting requirements including case notes and statistical data entry
* Liaise with stakeholders to develop resources, supports and programs that benefit our clients
* Participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety framework
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Cert IV Qualification in AOD and/or experience in Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs work or working towards a qualification
* Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications and ability to utilise Client Information Management Systems (CIMS) for case notes and data input
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a proactive and hands-on attitude
* A compassionate understanding of the issues clients may experience
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a small flexible team environment
* An understanding of the principles of harm minimisation and trauma-informed practice
* A thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, policies and procedures
* Australian Citizenship or suitable rights to work in Australia
* A current Driver's Licence
