Located at Redbank House, Westmead Hospital, the Acute Adolescent Unit (AAU) provides specialist inpatient mental health care for young people aged 12–18 experiencing acute or severe mental health challenges. As part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), you'll join one of NSW's largest and most progressive health services.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Psychologist within Perinatal, Child & Youth Mental Health Services (PCYMHS), you will provide high-quality psychological assessment and intervention to adolescents and their families within a tertiary referral service.
* Assess, formulate and treat complex and high-risk adolescent mental health presentations
* Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions, including DBT and trauma-informed approaches
* Work systemically with families and carers to support recovery and engagement
* Contribute to service development, quality improvement and best-practice care
* Participate in clinical supervision, student education and professional development

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology
Registration: Full registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology, or eligibility to progress to endorsement.
Selection Criteria:
* Demonstrated experience in working with young people and their families/carers with emotional and behavioural issues using evidence based and family focussed treatments eg: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Family Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Attachment Based Interventions and other appropriate cognitive, behavioural and emotional models of intervention.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to build therapeutic relationships.
* Capacity to provide a therapeutic group program to adolescents and their families
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for adolescents and their families.
* Experience working in mental health and, desirably, a knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act
* A working knowledge of current Child Protection procedures.
* Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
