About the Mint
The Royal Australian Mint is a small government agency working within the Commonwealth Government Portfolio of the Treasury. The Mint is a non-corporate Commonwealth Entity and is listed under the Public Governance Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). The Royal Australian Mint makes coins and other minted products to serve the needs of the Australian economy, foreign countries, investors and collectors. About the Branch
The Museum and Public Engagement Branch, aims to build awareness of the Mint and the National Coin Collection among everyday Australians, to educate the community on the importance of currency to our society, and to encourage people to engage with the Mint's collector coins and the stories they tell.
The Museum and Public Engagement Branch oversees the Mint Shop and the Museum and manages the contract of the Mint Café tenant. MaPE also oversees public programs, with large engagement activities like our 'Last Coin' (Dec 31) and 'First Coin' (Jan 1) and an annual 'Family Fun Day'. MaPE is the team responsible for the stewardship of the National Coin Collection, and the Curators and Collections Officer team not only care for and build that collection, but draw from it for the curation of our Museum exhibitions and digital programs. Works are planned for a new collection storage facility within the Royal Australian Mint footprint to ensure the National Coin Collection is well managed for future generations.
The Royal Australian Mint features a recently upgraded exhibition space detailing the history of the Australian coin-making and currency journey. Our refreshed visitor experience showcases industrial design, Australian social history a Special Exhibition Gallery, as well as the Mint Shop and Café and our visitor-favourite Factory Viewing Gallery. The Museum at the Mint sees an annual visitation of around 350,000 people including visiting school groups of around 120,000.
About the Role
The role is critical in driving the Royal Australian Mint's digital delivery to enhance the customer engagement initiatives. This role blends contemporary e-commerce and online expertise with IT integration. As a core member of the team, the role offers scope to work on cross-functional projects, lead innovation, and actively shape the Mint's future digital success.
The role focuses on improving and maintaining technology processes, so users have a smooth and enjoyable digital experience on the Mint eShop and corporate site. Requirements include working with teams across the organisation to design, build, and deliver solutions to maintain and improve the digital user experience. The position also guides the digital rollout of organisational information and content for product launches, corporate website, eShop, and other digital platforms. The role requires BAU maintenance of systems and ongoing improvements for accessibility and functionality.

The Duties
The duties of this position include:
1. Leading and mentoring a small cross-functional team, fostering collaboration, setting clear objectives, and ensuring timely delivery of digital projects, enhancements, upgrades and platform maintenance.
2. Overseeing the implementation and optimisation of multiple digital platforms, including User Experience (UX) enhancements, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and product release workflows for multiple websites.
3. Managing web analytics and tracking tools to drive data-informed decisions across content, user behaviour, and product trends.
4. Developing and supervising content engagement, including email integration, Customer Relationship Management System workflows, loyalty program setup, and automations that improve conversion and experience.
5. Leading CRM and data management initiatives, including reporting, insights, database clean-up, contact workflows, and lead-to-customer conversion strategies in collaboration with IT.
6. Coordinating IT, customer service support, and external vendors relationships and contracts across platforms and services like NopCommerce, Drupal, EQL, Paypal, and QueueIT.
7. Ensuring project compliance and governance, including procurement, privacy, risk assessments, and documentation standards align with internal policy.
Qualification
A relevant qualification in Computer Science, Digital delivery, Product management, Agile/Lean methodologies, and or UX is desirable.
Security
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintyain a clearance at this level.
