Ipswich Girls' Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School offers high quality, non-denominational education to students from Kindy to Year 12 (co-education from Kindy to Year 6, girls only Years Established in 1892, the School is one of eight original Grammar Schools in Queensland. THE OPPORTUNITY

A short 30-minute drive from Brisbane, our vast, heritage-listed campus is conveniently located in the middle of Ipswich. We offer the opportunities of a large city, with the quiet feel of a smaller town.

Ipswich Girls' Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated Secondary School English Teacher to join our close-knit academic team. This is a part-time (0.75FTE), fixed term role for Semester 1, 2026.

In this busy role you will report to the Head of English and work as part of an excellent and energetic academic team which is committed to providing an effective teaching and learning environment for students. This role will involve teaching both Middle and Senior English.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience developing and delivering a comprehensive English academic program, and

* be passionate about teaching and enriching the learning experience of students.
* have demonstrated experience in teaching middle and senior school level English within the Australian curriculum and QCAA Senior syllabi.
* differentiate the curriculum by employing a variety of instructional techniques and strategies aligned with instructional objectives, to meet the needs of all students.
* experience monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on student progress within the curriculum area, using data analysis to inform classroom strategies for student development and improvement.
* the ability to develop confidence and self-esteem in students and to act as a role model in presentation, action, and communication.
* strong interpersonal skills, with highly developed organisational, communication and administrative skills.
* the ability to participate in grounds' supervision on a regular rostered basis.
* eligibility to work in Australia with relevant teaching qualifications and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Queensland College of Teachers being highly regarded.
