Overview
We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team to work Weekday Nightshifts from 9PM to 7AM.
You will play an essential role in helping a young NDIS participant in Ballarat live a full life and achieve their goals.
Our client requires support with daily living tasks, personal care, medical and positive behavioural support.
Responsibilities
- Providing personalised care and assistance to an individual with an intellectual disability and epilepsy.
- Helping our client with all daily living activities such as meal preparation, and light domestic tasks.
- Providing all aspects of personal care (e.g. showering, toileting, hygiene) and health care support where required.
- Fostering a positive, fun and engaging environment.
- Assisting our client’s participation in recreational and social activities to promote wellbeing and community inclusion.
- Promoting client independence and personal goal achievement.
- Adhering to ethical standards, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Maintaining detailed notes related to client care and progress.
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
- Compassionate, caring, and respectful individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the quality of life for people living with disabilities.
- Experience and aptitude in disability support or similar vocations.
- Solid communication skills, with an empathetic and proactive approach.
- Reliable and willing to undertake personal care tasks.
- The legal right to work in Australia.
- Looking for a long term position and wanting to become an integral member of a team.
- Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability (highly regarded).
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one.
- Previous nursing experience and ability to work active overnight shifts highly desired but not required.
