Job Description

As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aquatic facilities. You will provide supervision and assistance to Defence personnel and guests while maintaining high standards of water quality, cleanliness, and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise all aquatic areas to ensure the safety and wellbeing of users
* Monitor water quality and pool conditions to maintain health and safety standards
* Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid or oxygen administration when required
* Assist in setting up and packing down pool equipment and activities
* Support broader Sport and Recreation operations, including basic facility maintenance and cleanliness
* Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly and constructively


Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

* A National Police Check and Defence clearance
* A current Lifeguard Award from the Royal Life Saving Society or equivalent
* Current First Aid (Level 1) and CPR certification
* The ability to administer oxygen in emergency situations
* Previous experience working in aquatic facilities or recreation centres is highly regarded
* Excellent situational awareness and communication skills
* Team-oriented, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe environment
* Australian Citizenship is a mandatory requirement for Defence security clearance
